Emmanuel’s story is one of shared vision, perseverance, and a community coming together in faith.
A shared beginning
Mt. Olive Kenton and Lockwood Chapel became a circuit, beginning a lasting partnership.
Becoming Emmanuel
Led by Rev. James Hill Sr., the congregations voted to unite on March 17, forming Emmanuel AME Church.
A home in Hartly
The church was completed and dedicated on Lockwood Chapel Road, where our story continues today.
